What I do
Solution Architect
Turning ambitious ideas into architecture that ships and survives contact with production.
I design systems end to end: the security model, the data, the services and the seams between them. My job is to make the right technical decision the pragmatic one, so what we build is production-ready, maintainable and aligned to what the business actually needs, not just technically tidy.
What I bring
- Greenfield architecture across security, data and engineering, taken from a blank page to a running system.
- API and integration design that other teams can build on without friction.
- Cloud-native delivery on Azure and AWS, with the trade-offs made explicit rather than assumed.
- Identity and access done properly: SSO, authorisation models and a clear source of truth.
- A bias for reversible decisions, so being wrong stays cheap and we can correct from real feedback.
How I work
I stay close to the code and the team. Architecture that lives only in diagrams tends to drift, so I keep it grounded by building through the system, reviewing what ships, and adjusting as the picture gets clearer. The second implementation is usually when the right abstraction becomes obvious, so I try not to over-commit before then.
A good fit when
- You're starting something new and want it built right the first time.
- You have a legacy system to modernise without a risky big-bang rewrite.
- You need one person who can hold the whole picture across security, data and delivery.
